The high brass section is the BOLDEST and BRASSIEST section of the MOB…What was that? We CAN’T HEAR YOU over our LOUD and RAMBUNCTIOUS sound. Imagine not having the raw power to burst peoples’ ear drums at will… (could not be us).
So, do you wanna blast Louie Louie? Swing to Shout? Hop to Turning it Loose? You’ve come to the right place!
We’re looking for:
– Trumpets
– French horns
– Mellophones, flugelhorns, cornets, C trumpets, piccolo trumpets, pocket trumpets, etc.
– Literally anyone!
You will need:
– Minimum 0 years of prior experience
– A smile :)
– Two hands (optional)
If you qualify (I’m sure you do)… welcome! Time to fill you in:
We hold three rehearsals every week in the late evenings at the John “Grungy” Gladu Band Hall—
that’s right, the band hall was named after OUR legendary alumnus, Grungy, who still pulls up
to rehearsals and rocks out with the high brass at every football game.
The high brass section welcomes everyone, from experienced virtuosos to newbies who are just starting out. As long as we’re making sweet music together, that’s all that matters!
The MOB is a really special environment to make music, and I’d love to see you at rehearsal. I’m so excited to have a great season with y’all! :)
– Andy Corliss, High Brass Section Leader (2023-24)
