Have you ever been bored of playing Bach, Gaubert, or Mozart? Have you ever been sick of marching aimlessly on a football field? Have you ever been tired of performing with a plain old band?
How about you play music like "Shout", "Back in Black", or "Live and Let Die"? How about you run around a football field shouting "AAAAAAAH!" like a lunatic? How about you join the MOB?
If you're looking at this page, it means you've already made a great decision in life - playing the flute. Now you can join the greatest section of the MOB. If you play flute, piccolo, oboe, udderbot, or any other similar instrument, we have a spot for you!
In addition to making the MOB more awesome simply by existing, we make the MOB sound more awesome by playing and, when the opportunity arises, we make the MOB look more awesome by dancing.
During football season, we have sectionals to get together and admire our perfect playing.
We also pick a game to dress up for based on whatever theme we want - previous themes include
"A Flute LARP", "Super Cute Flutes in Suits and Boots", and "Harry Potter".

| "Harry Potter" dress-up day, 2010. Left to right: Rebecca Kusko (Oboe, Martel '12), Alicia Jones (Piccolo, Will Rice '13), Vanessa Salinas (Flute, Will Rice '11), Stephanie Biediger (Flute, Jones '13), and Abby Wright (Flute, TBD '15) |
During basketball season we don't have sectionals or rehearsals, so we meet up in Autry Court to play even more music and also avoid death by defending against wild basketballs.
direct flute section questions, comments, suggestions, death threats, or adulations to your flute section overlord, Alicia Jones, using the blue email link at the top right of her bio square.
